Weather during the previous forecast period

   According to meteorological data recorded at Agro meteorological Observatory, Pusa (Bihar), average maximum and minimum temperature were 34.5 oC and 26.8°C respectively. Average relative humidity was 89 percent at 0700 hrs and 88 percent at 1400 hrs. Soil temperature at 5 cm depth was 27.5°C at 0700 hrs and 30.4°C at 1400 hrs. Average wind speed, daily sunshine hours and average daily evaporation were 7.0 km/hr, 1.3 hours and 1.5 mm respectively. About 13.2 mm rainfall was recorded during this period.

Advisory for the farmers

Nursery sowing:Light rainfall during the last few days, soil moisture has become congenial for sowing of rice seeds in the nursery. Continue this work.

Harvesting: In view of occurrence of rainfall during the period,do not leave the harvested produce of moong and urd in the open condition. Keep it in the secured places.

Litchi:After harvesting of litchi fruits, ploughing of the orchard is advised. Application of manures and fertilizers is also recommended. @ of 60-80 kg compost or cow dung, 2.5 kg Urea, 1.5 kg single super phosphate, 1.3 kg Murate of Potash and 50 g borax in the soil around a full trunk growth of the tree.

Rice Nursery: Remove weeds from the nursery of rice seedlings which are of 10-15 days old and apply 2 kg urea per 1000 sqm of the nursery.

Vegetable: Sowing/Transplanting of tomato and Brinjal is advised.

Veterinary care: Farmers are advised to carry out vaccination of their animals against the Black Quarter, anthrax and other diseases as per advice of animal experts.

Turmeric and Ginger:Farmers are advised to sown the turmeric and ginger in the field immediately if not sown earlier.

Cauliflower: Sowing of early cauliflower varieties in the nursery is advised.
