Applications are invited for the following posts on the prescribed form obtainable from the office of the undersigned by sending a non-refundable, A/C Payee Demand Draft payable at Punjab National Bank, Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa (Code No.451200) or State Bank of India, Samastipur (Code No. 00174) for Rs. 450.00 (Rupees four hundred fifty) only for General/BC/EBC/RCF and Rs. 150.00 (Rupees on hundred fifty) only for SC/ST candidates drawn in favour of the Comptroller, Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, Pusa alongwith self addressed envelop of 27 x 19 cm size duly stamped with a postage of Rs. 27.00 (Rupees twenty seven) only or in person from 10.00 A .M. to 04.00 P.M. on any working days. The application form can also be down-loaded from the website www.pusavarsity.org.in and a demand draft as indicated above must be enclosed alongwith application. The down-loaded application form without requisite fee (B.D. as stated above) will be rejected. A separate application with separate fee is required for each post. The application alongwith all relevant documents should reach the Officer-in-Charge (Recruitment), Rajendra Agricultural University , Pusa (Samastipur) - 848 125 on or before 31-12.2009 up to 05.00 P.M. only through registered post/speed post/courier post. The in-service candidate should submit application through proper channel. However, they must submit advance copy with requisite fee within stipulated time.

1. Dean Agriculture (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or research of which five years should have been in a position of responsibility.

(iii) Desirable-Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing an Agricultural College preferably offering under-graduate and post-graduate education.

 

2. Dean Veterinary & Animal Science (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Veterinary or Animal Husbandry (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) as mentioned in Sl.No.1 item (ii).

(iii) Desirable : Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing a Veterinary and Animal Husbandry College preferably offering under-graduate and post-graduate education.

 


3. Dean Basic Sciences & Humanities (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Basic Science and Humanities (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) as mentioned in Sl.No.1 item (ii).

(iii) Desirable : Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching in the faculty concerned. (iv) Experience in managing a College of Basic Science and Humanities preferably offering under-graduate and post-graduate education.

 


4. Dean Home Science (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Home Science (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) as mentioned in Sl.No.1 item (ii).

(iii) Desirable : Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing a Home Science College preferably offering under-graduate and post-graduate education.

 


5. Dean Agriculture Engineering (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agricultural Engineering (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) as mentioned in Sl.No.1 item (ii).

(iii) Desirable : Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing an Agril. Engineering College preferably offering under-graduate and post-graduate education.

 


6. Dean Dairy Science & Technology, SGIDT, Patna (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Dairy Science and Technology (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidate with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) as mentioned in Sl.No.1 item (ii).

(iii) Desirable : Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing Dairy Science and Technology College preferably offering undergraduate and post graduate education.

 


7. Director Research (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture, Veterinary or Animal Husbandry (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and responsible leaderships in the relevant field). (ii) Ten years experience in teaching and/or research work as evidenced by published work in standard research journals of which at least five years experience should have been in a position of an institution in which research holds an important place. (iii) Evidence of leadership, outstanding achievements in research and organizing research.



8. Director Extension Education (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Bachelors Degree in Agriculture/Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry Science. (ii) Doctorate in Extension (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in case of candidate with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research or extension). (iii) Ten years experience of teaching/research or extension of which five years should have been in a position of responsibility.

(iv) Desirable : Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in extension and organizing extension.

 


9. Director Planning (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science / Basic Science / Agricultural Engineering / Home Science. (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or/research/extension education in any of the above subject out of which five years must be in the capacity of Associate Professor/Senior Scientist or equivalent. Preference will be given to those candidates who have Ph.D. degree in Agriculture Economics/Economics and have experience of planning, monitoring, evaluation work and report preparation in any Agricultural University/Govt./Semi Govt. organization.

 


10. Director Students' Welfare (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Masters' degree in any branch of Agriculture Science/Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science/Basic Science & Education. If a suitable person with Ph.D. qualification in concerned subject is available, he will be preferred. (ii) Ten years experience of teaching in a college of Agriculture/Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science/Basic Science or Education in the capacity of a College Professor/Associate Professor. (iii) Adequate experience of organizing sports, games, dramas and other students' welfare activities.

(iv) Desirable – Evidence of leadership and capacity in organizing teaching and students' activities.



11. Director Sugarcane Research Institute (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in Agronomy/Soil Science/Plant Breeding/Plant Physiology/Entomology/Plant Pathology/Nematology (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research or extension). (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or research/Extension in the subject concerned out of which half of the period must be in the capacity of Senior Scientist or equivalent in Sugarcane Research.

(iii) Evidence of leadership, outstanding activities in research & organizing sugarcane research.



12. Director Residence Instruction-cum-Dean (PGS) (One Post) Pay Scale - Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture, Veterinary or Animal Husbandry (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent Post-graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or research of which five years should have been in a position of responsibility.

(iii) Desirable – Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievement in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing an Agricultural and Animal Husbandry College preferably offering under-graduate and Postgraduate education.



13. Director Seed and Farms (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture. (ii) Ten years experience in teaching/research/extension and/or Farm Management out of which 5 years experience should be in a position of responsibility. (ii) Leadership in Farm Management, Seed Production and Seed Research as evidenced by published work in journal of repute.



14. Registrar (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Masters' degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the U.G.C. seven point scale (ii) At least fifteen years of experience as Assistant Prof. (Senior Scale)/Assistant Professor with eight years in Associate Professor grade alongwith experience in educational administration. Or Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education. Or Fifteen years of administrative experience of which eight years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post. Ph.D. is a desirable qualification.



15. Associate Dean-cum-Principal, Bihar Veterinary College , Patna (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) A Master's Degree with at least 55% of the marks in any branch of Veterinary or Animal Husbandry or its equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter graded O, A, B, C, D, E and F (ii), Ph.D. or equivalent qualification, (iii) Total experience of 15 years of teaching/research in University/Colleges and other institutions of higher education.

 



16. Associate Dean-cum-Principal, College of Fisheries , Dholi (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Master's degree with at least 55% of the marks in any branch of Fisheries or its equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F item (ii) & (iii) as mentioned in item 15 (ii) & (iii).

 



17. Chief Medical Officer (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 10,000-15,200/-

(i) A degree in Medical Science of a recognize University. (ii) Experience as a registered medical practitioner for a period of not less than five years.

(iii) Desirable- Experience of working in an educational institution for a period of not less than three years shall be a preferential qualification.

 



18. Medical Officer, Surgery (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 8,000-13,500/-

(i) A degree in Medical Science with specialization of Surgery of a recognize University. (ii) Experience as a registered medical practitioner.

(iii) Desirable- Experience of working in an educational institution shall be a preferential qualification.

 



19. Medical Officer, Pathology (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 8,000-13,500/-

(i) A degree in Medical Science with specialization of Pathology of a recognize University. (ii) Experience as a registered medical practitioner.

(iii) Desirable- Experience of working in an educational institution shall be a preferential qualification.

 



20. Lady Medical Officer, Gynecology (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 8,000-13,500/-

(i) A degree in Medical Science with specialization of Gynecology of a recognize University. (ii) Experience as a registered medical practitioner.

(iii) Desirable- Experience of working in an educational institution shall be a preferential qualification.

 



21. University Librarian (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : Masters' degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and consistently good academic record. At least 13 years as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or eighteen years experience as a College Librarian.

Evidence of innovative Library service and organization of published work.

Desirable - M.Phil/Ph.D. degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation/ archives/and manuscript keeping.

 


22. Dy./Assoc. Librarian (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 16400-450-20900-500-22400/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Masters' degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record. (ii) Five year's experience as an Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian. (iii) Evidence of innovative Library service, published work and professional commitment, computerization of library.

Desirable - M.Phil/Ph.D. degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation/ archives/and manuscript keeping, computerization of library.



23. Assistant Librarian (Post 3 (SC-01, ST-01, EBC-01) Pay Scale – Rs. 8000-13,500/-

Essential Qualification : (i) Masters' degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale plus a consistently good academic record. (ii) Qualifying in the National level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS WILL BE SUPPLIED WITH THE APPLICATION FORM.

 



24. Security Officer - (One Post) Pay Scale – Rs. 4500-7000/-

Essential qualification : (i) Graduate with experience in Security/Fire Services/Vigilance functions. Retired defense personnel in the rank of honorary captain or D.S.P. with experience in above areas will be preferred. However, in case of exceptionally good candidate, experience and qualification may be relaxed. Possession of driving license of two wheeler & four wheeler is obligatory.



NOTE:

The University reserves the right to withdraw any post, change the designation and pay scale and also not to fill up any post even after selection.

In no case application received after closing date will be considered. The original application form duly forwarded by parent office must reach to this office within a fortnight after closing date.

Higher starting salary may be considered for highly qualified and experienced persons on the recommendation of Selection Committee in special cases.

Candidates must bring original certificates at the time of interview.

The candidates applying for the posts of Assoc. Dean-cum-Principal, University Librarian and Dy./Assoc. Librarian should submit their application with all enclosures in triplicate.
