Varieties
II WHEAT

Rajendra Wheat-3413 45-50 q/ha Suitable for Normal and irrigated sown, High tillering capacity. Plant height medium, Panicle length large, Free from pest infestation, Good chapatti making quality, Resistant to Rust. For cultivation in plains of Bihar.
Rajendra Wheat-3016 25-30 q/ha Glum surface glalerum, White colours down, Crooked penduncle. Panicle length medium. Large plant height, Resistant to rust. For Rainfed cultivation.
Rajendra Wheat-3415 45-50 q/ha Plant height medium, High tillering capacity. Resistant to rust, Panicle length size large. For cultivation in plain zones of Bihar.
III MAIZE,
Lakshmi 60-65 q/ha It is developed from advance generation variety as a cross of American early dent x texpeno, its grain are bold white and semi dent with white cap and soft as regards milling is concerned. Plants have shot and broad early leaves. Its tassels are compact. The variety is to levant to leaf blight (Helminthosporium turcium) and root (pucinia sorghaii). The crop taken 165 to 170 days to mature during rabi season for which it has been recommended.  
Suwan 38 q/ha Kharif) 45 q/ha (Rabí)   Suwan 1, resistant to downy mildew was developed in Thailand. Suwan variety, a derivative from Suwan-1 has been developed for growing in Bihar condition. Plants are tall with broad green leaves free from foliar diseases and stalk rot prevalent during kharif season. Lower parts of plants are light pink in colour. For kharif and rabi season, Composite Varieties.
Hemant 64 q/ha This composite is high yielding disease resistant and performing well under average to high fertility conditions. This variety was developed through full recurrent selection in an advanced generation seed bulk of the maize varietals cross, American early dent x tuxpeno. The plants are medium tall and vigorous and leaves are broad dark green, kernels are white, semi-dent, that and large in size. Composites Rabi season.
Devaki 70 q/ha ( Rabí) 40 q/ha(Kharif) It is developed from IPTT 44 . It is a full season variety. The grain is white, bold semi-dent and flat. It has resistance to common rust, leaf blight, stem borer and climatinb cultitorm. Composite for rabi and kharif season
Rajendra Hybrid Makka-1 45 q/ha(Kharif) 65 q/ha (Rabí) It is double top cross hybrid [(CM 400 x CM 300) x pant 7421].It mature within 90-95 days in kharif season and in 160-165 days in rabi season . The plants are of medium stature, narrow and dark green leaves. The plant bear one big cob having semi-dent grain of white colour. Hybrid for rabi and kharif season
Rajendra Hybrid Makka-2 45 q/ha(Kharif) 65 q/ha (Rabí) It is a varietal cross involving M-13 and Jogia. It matures in 160-165 and 100-105 day in rabi and kharif season respectively. Plants have green dropping leaves grains and white, bold, semi dent, often with kenia effect. Hybrid for rabi and kharif season
Shaktiman-I 65.5 q/ha It is medium tall (190 cm), thick, sturdy, resistance to lodging and has an average ear height of 80.0 m. The plant usually shed pollen in 10 days, siltt in 112 days after planting during the rabi season. The disease scoring on 1.5 scale for rust and turcicum blight is 1.5 indicating their resistance to both the diseases. Kernels are white slim bold with increased quantity of tryptophan (1.01 %) and by sine (4.03%) leading to tremendous improvement net protein utilization of kernel protein (80%). QPM hybrid of India
Shaktiman-2 61.8 q/ha Medium tall (178 cm) and has an average ear height (69.0 cm). The plant sheds pollen in 108 days in rabi season and mature within 150 days. The leaves are narrow and dark green. Disease scoring for rust and turcicum leaf blight is 2.0, a good tolerance to both diseases. It has good level of resistance against downy mildly, leaf blight and rust. Shaktiman-3 85.95 q/ha (Rabí) 70 q/ha (Kharif) The plants are of medium stature with broad, cured and dark green leaves. It matures within 95 days in kharif season and 155 days in rabi season. Plants are resistance to leaf blight, downg mildew and rust. Shaktiman-4 90-100 q/ha(Rabí) 75.80 q/ha (Kharif) The parents are of medium stature with broad, curled and dark green leaves. Plants usually bears two big cobs having semi flint grains of orange yellow colour and also a good level of resistance against major diseases and pests. It was 9.88 % protein in grains, 0.93 % tryptophan and 3.78 % lysine in grain protein. QPM hybrid suitable for timely as well as late sown condition both in kharif and rabi season.
